Applying For a Bunny:
Once a litter of bunnies are born, we will post a birth announcement here on the website and on Facebook. We will then announce the date that we will make the online reservation application available. You will fill out the application and submit it to us. Applications are accepted in the order in which they are received. Once your application has been approved, you will be notified. A bunny will then be officially reserved for you with a non-refundable 50% Paypal DEPOSIT. Be sure to watch our Available Rabbits and Silkies page AND our Facebook page.
Non Refundable Deposit:
To officially reserve your bunny once available, you must pay a non-refundable deposit via Paypal. Your deposit will be applied toward the balance owed for the bunny. The balance is due IN CASH when the bunny is picked up. Bunnies cannot leave our farm until they are at least 10 weeks of age.
The deposit will ONLY be refunded if we cancel the sale for any reason OR if the bunny is found to be of a different gender BEFORE it leaves our facility. If you simply change your mind or fail to contact us to set up a pick-up date, your deposit will not be refunded and your bunny will be sold to the next applicant in line.
Our bunnies typically sell for anywhere between $100 – $200 depending on quality and color. Our Holland Lops will come with a pedigree, and they will be very well socialized and friendly. We invest a lot of time and money into our bunnies, and we cannot sell them for any less.
Picking Up Your Bunny:
You must contact us to schedule a pickup date for your bunny no later than two weeks after paying your deposit. If you fail to schedule a pickup date, and you fail to communicate with us, your deposit is non-refundable, and your bunny will be sold to the next applicant in line. All bunnies must be picked up at our farm located in Natchitoches Parish Louisiana.
We guarantee that when you arrive to pickup your bunny, he or she will be in excellent health and condition. You will need to be ready to inspect your bunny for gender and any signs of illness. Once the bunny leaves our facility, we will no longer guarantee its health simply because we cannot be responsible for any stress or dietary changes which are no longer in our control. You are responsible for following our recommendations for feeding and care as well as seeking veterinary assistance if necessary. Please fully inspect your bunny before you leave because all sales are final.
Please be sure to do your research. Investing in a bunny can be a long time commitment. Most Holland Lops live an average of ten years. We will send you home with a care sheet, but it is recommended that you spend some time doing your own research. We will also send you home with a baggy of pellets. While we highly suggest that you continue feeding your new baby the same food that we use, we understand that sometimes it is necessary to change. In that case be sure to gradually change the food by mixing yours with what we give you in order to keep your bunny’s tummy happy. Be sure to read the care sheet that we give you for important information about your new baby’s dietary needs. We never recommend giving them store bought treats such as yogurt drops or seed sticks. Your rabbit needs an endless supply of quality Timothy Hay, and and egg cup size serving of quality pellets daily. Once your rabbit is over six months of age, you can also begin giving them a bowl of fresh veggies daily. Be sure to do your research. Not all veggies and fruits are healthy for rabbits. Your bunny can quickly become overweight or suffer from GI Stasis.
Purchasing Day Old Chicks
We occasionally offer day old Silkie chicks for sale. Our silkie chicks are all sold as straight run only. We can’t guarantee the gender on any of our Silkie babies. All baby chicks require special care and handling including a brooder box with clean shavings, clean food and water containers, and a heat source that can keep one end of the brooder box 95 degrees. More details about caring for baby chicks can be found on our Caring For Baby Chicks page.
Our Hatching Eggs
We occasionally offer hatching eggs for sale as well. Prices for hatching eggs are $45 per half dozen, or $75 per dozen. Due to the fact that we have no control how our eggs are handled after they leave our farm, we cannot offer any guarantee that they will hatch. You can find more information about storing, handling, and hatching eggs on our Caring for Baby Chicks page.
We occasionally choose to keep some of our silkie chicks to grow them out and see what they will look like. When this happens we may choose to sell some of our grow outs or our proven Silkie hens and roos. Prices will depend on various things such as age, quality and color.
We strive to achieve and exceed the Silkie standard of perfection. We can’t always predict what a chicken will grow up to look like, but you can rest assured that we only breed our best to the best in order to produce a quality bird that will be competitive to show or simply beautiful to look at.
First Come First Served
As of right now we do not offer a waiting list for our Silkies. We will, however, announce on our Available Rabbits and Silkies page and our Facebook page when we hatch chicks for sale. We will also announce and provide pictures of any grow outs or proven adults that we offer for sale. So be sure to watch for those announcements.
Other Farm Goodies
Sourdough, Farm Fresh Eggs, and More.
We occasionally offer various farm fresh goodies for sale. Sourdough goodies such as bread, cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, or pizza crusts are one of our favorite things to make. Sometimes we offer canned goodies such as homemade salsa, preserves and fruit butters, or relish. We are experimenting with different farm fresh goodies that we can offer our community, and goat milk soap and candles are making their way onto the scene soon. All products are sold on a first come first served basis, as quantities are always limited on a small farm. Some items can be shipped for an additional shipping fee.
All Sales Are Final
All sales for all products and animals are final. It is up to you to inspect everything you purchase before it leaves our farm. We provide care instructions for all of our rabbits, chickens, and hatching eggs. It is your responsibility to follow our instructions for care. If you purchase food items from us, it is up to you to follow safe food storage and heating practices.
We reserve the right to change our sales policy at any time and to refuse the sale of a bunny or our Silkies for any reason. It is your responsibility to read our sales policy before purchase.
