The Bearded Silkie has quickly become one of the most favorite chickens of all chicken enthusiasts. Once you have seen a silkie, there is no way that you will ever mistake it for another breed. They are small, fluffy chickens with that appear to be more silk-like than regular chicken feathers. Silkies are a feather-footed breed with five toes, unlike regular chickens who only have four. Purebred silkies have a solid black beak and skin as well, although you may see some variances with some colors such as the Paint Silkie. Silkies are also notorious for being great mamas. They go broody quite often and will sit on any egg that you offer them.

We searched high and low for a superior stock of show quality Silkies to start our program, and we finally found a breeder out of Kentucky that was willing to work with us here in Louisiana. Our Silkies survived through not one but TWO apocalyptic snow storms here in Louisiana where it NEVER SNOWS! We were convinced that it was meant to be, and now we are breeding only the best to the best in order to produce superior quality birds. You can learn more about the Silkie standard of perfection here.
Our Bearded Silkies vary in price depending on color, quality, and age. Prices range from $10 to $75 depending on many different factors. All Silkie chicks are sold as straight run only. Prices increase as they get older and grow into beautiful show quality birds.
We may offer hatching eggs occasionally. When we have them available, we will post them here on our site and on our Facebook page. Hatching eggs are sold at a cost of $40 per half dozen, and just like everyone else that sells hatching eggs, we cannot guarantee that they will hatch.
